Our Integrated Approach to Psychosocial Support

Long-term mental health support is our specialty.

We help you translate your NDIS plan into practical, daily life stability. To achieve this we ensure Routine and Structure is implemented by establishing and maintaining daily routines (medication management, appointments, sleep hygiene) to reduce anxiety and promote well-being.
Safety Planning is key when working collaboratively with participants to develop proactive, individualised safety plans and providing empathetic support during times of increased needs or distress.
Daily Living Coaching will guarantee support workers provide one-on-one coaching for essential life skills, such as budgeting, meal preparation, household management, and self-care, which directly enhance independence and self-worth.

What is NDIS Psychosocial support?

NDIS Psychosocial support refers to the non-clinical, everyday supports funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to help participants who have a psychosocial disability.
A psychosocial disability is a disability that arises from a mental health condition (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe anxiety, or depression) that significantly impacts a person’s ability to function in daily life, participate in work/study, or engage with their community.
“The simple act of caring is heroic” by Edward Albert 2

How can the NDIS fund Psychosocial Disabilities?

The funding for psychosocial disabilities is allocated across two main budgets within an NDIS plan they are Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports.

From the Core Supports you have two sub-categories which are called ‘Assistance with daily life’ and ‘Assistance with social and community participation’.

From the Capacity Building Supports you have four sub-categories which are called ‘Improved Daily Living’ ‘Improved Relationships’ ‘Improved Coordination of Supports’ and ‘Finding and Keeping a Job’.

What the NDIS Does NOT Fund for Psychosocial Disabilities

The NDIS does not fund clinical treatment of the mental health condition itself these include sessions solely for symptom treatment, or psychiatry treatment. Those are the responsibility of the mainstream health system which can be Medicare, private health care or public health care.
