- Enteral Feeding & Nutrition: Professional management of PEG and Nasogastric (NG) tubes, including feed administration, site care, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Complex Wound Management: Expert care for surgical wounds, pressure injuries, and ulcers, focused on preventing infection and promoting fast healing.
- Respiratory & Ventilation Support: Specialised support for participants requiring tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator monitoring.
- Continence & Catheter Care: Management of indwelling (IDC) and suprapubic catheters, stoma care, and the development of personalized continence programs.
- Medication Administration: Safe delivery of complex medications, including subcutaneous injections and Schedule 8 (S8) drugs, with rigorous monitoring for side effects.
- Diabetes Management: Assistance with blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and the implementation of diabetes management plans.
- Seizure Management: High-intensity support for participants with epilepsy, including the administration of emergency medication (like Midazolam) and post-seizure care.
Understanding NDIS Nursing Funding
Nursing care is generally funded under two main NDIS categories in your NDIS plan:
- Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life): For regular, ongoing clinical tasks required for your day-to-day health, this applies to daily wound dressings or medication management.
- Capacity Building (Improved Daily Living): For “Nurse Consultation” or training, where our nurses teach you, your family, or your support workers how to manage aspects of your care independently.
Our Diabetes Support Training
- Correct BGL Monitoring: Step-by-step training on using Blood Glucose Layer (BGL) monitors to ensure accurate readings every time.
- Sharps Safety & Technique: Specialized instruction on the correct handling of lancets (finger-prick pens). We train our staff to identify the “business end” of the device and use correct positioning to ensure the participant’s comfort while eliminating the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries to the staff member.
- Insulin Pen Administration: Proper technique for priming and injecting insulin pens, including site rotation to maintain skin health.
- Hypo/Hyper Awareness: Training staff to recognize the early warning signs of blood sugar fluctuations and following the specific Emergency Action Plan provided by your doctor.
*Our Safety Guarantee: No support worker is permitted to assist with finger-prick testing or insulin administration until a Registered Nurse has signed off on their practical competency. This ensures your care is delivered safely and accurately.
Who can provide NDIS Nursing Care?
A Registered NDIS Provider:
Complex Clinical Nursing must be managed by a Registered Provider.
- Compliance: We are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards.
- Accountability: We must have robust systems for incident management, complaints, and worker screening.
- Funding: Participants whose funding is “NDIA-Managed” must use a registered provider like My Life Accommodation and Care Solutions.
- Registered Nurses (RN): Hold a university degree and are responsible for high-level assessments, creating complex care plans, and supervising other staff.
- Enrolled Nurses (EN): Hold a diploma and work under the delegation and supervision of an RN to provide direct clinical care.

NDIS Registered Nurse (RN) hourly rates are approximately $123.65 per hour on weekdays. Rates are subject to NDIS 2025-26 pricing arrangements.
NDIS Support Services Whilst in Hospital
However, NDIS funding may cover specific disability-related health supports, such as training for hospital staff for complex communication or behavioural needs. Participants should inform hospital staff of their NDIS status. This eliminates a duplication of government funding being claimed.
